1880 Liberty Seated Dime. NGC graded Proof 65 Cameo. CAC Approved. Only 1,355 Proofs struck. Soft satin-like devices surrounded by careening mirror freshness with lustrous silver color. So, too, the devices were struck with such power by the dies that all design elements show boldly on this gorgeous cameo Proof. Pop 14; 31 finer.

1884 Liberty Seated Dime. PCGS graded Proof 65 Cameo. CAC Approved. A fully white gem. Only 875 struck. One would be hard pressed to locate a more pristine 65 cameo of this issue, even if one were to search for weeks and months. The richly mirrored, rotating white surfaces, like summer lightning, provide a sparkle of unimpeded mint luster. The frosted devices rise up in bold relief. Pop 11; 27 finer (PCGS # 84781) .

1891 Liberty Seated Dime. NGC graded Proof 65 Cameo. CAC Approved. A fully white gem. Only 600 Proofs minted. The otherwise silvery hue warms to brilliant cameo shades on the main devices. 1893 Barber Dime. PCGS graded Proof 66 PQ. CAC Approved. Lovely blue toning. Only 792 pieces struck. The Proofs struck in the 1890s are consistently sharp with all the finer details showing. Pop 24; 13 finer, 12 in 67, 1 in 68 (PCGS # 4877) .

Lot 3606
1909 Barber Dime. NGC graded Proof 64 Cameo PQ. Very choice for the grade. Only 650 minted. The otherwise silver mirrored luster deepens to heavy frostiness on the bold devices. All this is perhaps par for the course given the choice grade, with an especially bold strike complementing the luster as well. Pop 2; 16 finer.
Estimated Value $800 - 850.

Lot 3607
1909-D Barber Dime. PCGS graded MS-66. Nice original toning. Gemmy throughout with rippling lustrous surfaces, there are no impairments on either side to draw attention. A generous amount of detail for the type, as well, though with the usual soft flows into the deeper channels of the dies at the front of Liberty's hair and on OF-AM in the same region. Pop 12; 1 finer in 66+ (PCGS # 4851) .
Estimated Value $3,600 - 3,700.

Lot 3609
1920-S Mercury Dime. PCGS graded MS-65 Full Bands. Nice light toning. An example of this rare issue that is one of the most difficult Mercury Dimes to find in Gem condition with Full Bands. For some reason, the San Francisco Mint slipped badly in 1920 in its oversight of production quality. It is also possible the demands for coinage made the staff run the presses until the dies had worn. Be that as it may, this handsome piece not only has complete band definition but there is very little fadeaway on the zero in the date, a problem this issue shares with the 1920-D since the spacing there did not allow enough room for proper flow of the metal into the die in the date area. The near pristine surfaces are covered with light steel to blue-steel antique color along with blushes of golden hue over both sides. Strong underlying mint frost supports this. Rare in such an exclusive state of preservation. This piece is finer than 95% of surviving Mint State '20-S Dimes; most big-name collections of the past failed to include a Gem Full Bands example. Pop 25; 10 finer, 7 in 66, 3 in 67 (PCGS # 4933) .
Estimated Value $6,000 - 6,250.

1926 Mercury Dime. NGC graded MS-65 Full Bands. Metal flows outward from the center to the rim when a coin blank is struck by dies. This produceds the characteristic luster we see in a Mint State coin. Well struck and fully white. A gorgeous gem. Pop 85; 32 finer.

Lot 3611
1929-S Mercury Dime. PCGS graded MS-67 Full Bands. Tied for the finest graded at PCGS. Boldly struck. Likely an early strike from fresh dies, judging from the details. The surfaces are satin silver. They are impeccable. No, more than this, they are incredible for their superbness. Incredible detail gives further evidence for the connoisseur; and unlike the general run of Mercury Dimes which have the faintest touch of weakness at the centers, this exemplary coin is fully banded. Pop 26; none finer at PCGS (PCGS # 4977) .
Estimated Value $5,500 - 5,800.

Lot 3612
1937 Mercury Dime. NGC graded Proof 68. A gem white coin, phenomenal quality "as struck." Only 5,756 struck. Isolated swirls of silvery iridescence confirm the originality of this scarcer early Proof Mercury Dime example. Fully lustrous and quite clean for the issue. Fortunately for the strike, it, like the luster, is outstanding. A well-struck example with simply spectacular details. There are no bothersome weakness on the high points, which may indicate it was an early strike from new dies. Many times, the Mint removed the dies from the press to repolish them, resulting in weak areas within the design. Pop 34; 1 finer in 68+.
Estimated Value $3,500 - 3,600.

1938 Mercury Dime. PCGS graded MS-68 Full Bands. A white gem. Clean as a whistle, as one would look forward to from the grade; however, what really makes this break free from others is its spinning luster that rolls around each side unimpeded by toning. Tied for the finest graded at PCGS. Pop 8; none finer at PCGS (PCGS # 5011) .
Estimated Value $4,800 - 5,000.

1938-D Mercury Dime. PCGS graded MS-68 Full Bands. Tied for the finest graded at PCGS. The bright silver hue bursts from original surfaces unspoiled by toning. A strong strike brings further compliment, making this a desirable specimen. Fortunately, 1938-D usually displays a precision strike on the legends and main device, which is all the more reason to choose this handsome example for your Registry collection. Pop 11; none finer at PCGS (PCGS # 5013) .
